Putting Up the Crib

Josh and I had read that to keep cats out of a baby's crib to cover it in tin foil.  If the cats jump in, they aren't supposed to like the texture and sound of the foil so we covered the entire crib...

The cats were pretty interested about this new piece of furniture that they were certain we'd brought in the house for them...

15 seconds later Tito couldn't stand it any more and jumped right in...

So much for the tin foil trick, Tito thought we'd made him a pretty neat cave.

Though he did get in right away, they've both left the crib alone since we put it up and we think once it contains a baby that makes all kinds of noises and produces interesting smells they'll stay even further away!

I've been bad about updating so here is what we've been up to for the past couple of months.

January 11th Josh and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary.  A year ago we were in Puerto Vallarta on the beach.  This year we decided we had to embrace the Iowa weather, so we went cross country skiing on a frozen lake covered in about a foot of snow.  Not only was it really beautiful, but it was also a lot of fun.  Later that night we dressed up and Josh took me out for a fancy dinner.  We had a great time and look forward to celebrating many more years to come.

We had the waiter take our picture at dinner.  Josh even wore a button-up shirt, so I knew it was a special occasion.

We also picked out a crib and a glider which Josh diligently put together with help of the cats.  Here he is trying to decipher the directions.  The only part that had to be redone was the section I helped on!

This weekend I was able to visit my Aunt V and Uncle Chris and my grandpa.  Here's a picture of Vicki and I.  I am just shy of 29 weeks in this picture.
