Our Story

We realize we may have not been the best at keeping everyone up to date with our whereabouts and adventures so for one of our first posts we wanted to give a quick refresher.

Sara & Josh both worked at Lutheran Lakeside Camp for 3 summers, 03-06.

 After a Saturday morning sail.

After our last summer Josh went back to Iowa City and Sara moved back to Austin to finish grad school.  After going over our allotted 'minutes' more than once and due to Josh's being seasonally affected by the Iowa winter we decided the best thing would be to move to the same city, Austin.

While I finished grad school Josh worked at the greenhouse in Lowes.  After several months of hard labor Josh couldn’t wait to get back to school at the U of I so we headed back to Iowa City in June 2006.

In May 2007 we bought our first house in Iowa City…

'What have I gotten myself into?'

We added to our family in June by adopting Kee Cat…

 Josh proposed in September...

and we got married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in January 2008.

We were so lucky to be joined by family and friends.

We expanded again by adopting Gatito (Tito) when we got back from Mexico

And in September 08 we found out we were going to have another addition in May 2009 with our first child.

Taken at 20 weeks

We are now 22 weeks along, Josh is now one year away from getting his master’s in environmental engineering – that is unless he decides to stick around for his PhD and I work for the Iowa Consortium for Comprehensive Cancer Control.  I love my job and Josh is really enjoying the research aspect of school.  We are very happy with our lives right now and are trying to patiently await a bigger joy than we can imagine in May.
